Athletics Mission Statement
The mission of the Youngstown City Schools Physical Development and Athletics Program is to promote student achievement by providing leadership and resources for the development of enriched curricular and co-curricular activities. The Board of Education believes that extracurricular activities at school are an important part of the total educational program and should be used as a means for developing wholesome attitudes and good human relations, as well as knowledge and skills. The District believes all those who participate in extracurricular activities including sports will strive to achieve at their highest academic potential.
